San Antonio is set up to have a sixth Torchy's Tacos locations by early 2023. The Austin brand is eyeing a spot on the Far Westside to continue its Alamo City expansion.

Torchy's confirmed the next restaurant will be located at 9602 State Highway 151, suite 101. Restaurant spokeswoman Marisa Patterson says the Far Westside location will include indoor and patio seating, with a takeout option and online ordering via the website and app.

According to information filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the construction timeline is listed as September 1 to December 15. The finish-out project is for a 3,800-square-foot space, which is on par with the other San Antonio Torchy's locations.

The address puts the potential Torchy's near Las Palapas, a San Antonio Tex-Mex go-to, as well as Grand Tequila. Other chains like Dutch Bros Coffee, Willie's Grill and Icehouse, and Panera are also in the area.

According to Workstream.com, Torchy's CEO G.J. Hart has previously shared his plans for the chain, which includes "doubling in size." In December 2020, Torchy's sold a $400 million stake in the company to a group of investors to extend its footprint nationally, according to Chron.com

Torchy's opened its 100th restaurant in Austin to start the year. The fast-casual brand of "damn good tacos" was introduced to San Antonio in December 2014 when the Lincoln Heights shop opened. The fifth and newest restaurant at Bandera opened in July 2021. The other locations are at Medical Center, Rim, and Sonterra.

The company also has a New Braunfels location in the works at 229 FM 306.
