San Antonio makeup artist now sponsored by Rihanna's Fenty brand

One of San Antonio's most-followed makeup artists is under the "Umbrella" of Rihanna's brands.

Belinda Salazar, known as @belindaarosee to 17,000 on Instagram and 131,000 on TikTok, just achieved one of her goals: picking up a Fenty sponsorhip. The wildly popular makeup brand owned by Rihanna and LVMH amassed a cult following due to its inclusive marketing and shade range and having the superstar backing, of course. Vogue credited the singer's makeup for changing the beauty landscape in an April 2020 article

All prestige considered, Salazar said she was in disbelief when she found an email from Fenty's public relations team in her inbox. She said her email account was "blowing up" after two of her TikToks went viral, but she didn't expect Fenty to come knocking. She was suspect of the email at first and checked the addresses, contacts and links to ensure she wasn't being bamboozled. Soon after, she was on a Zoom call with the team to set up the review process for the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation.

Salazar said Rihanna wasn't on any of the calls (we had to ask) but being sponsored by her brand is still a dream come true.

"That was one of the brands that I would tell my friends 'One of these days I'm going to work with Fenty, they're going to notice me.' And, they did," she said. "That was one of my goals. I reached it, I accomplished it and I'm excited about it."

Instagram users might recognize Salazar's face while scrolling the platform. She said the brand used her review as one of the sponsored posts. She hasn't been featured on Fenty's grid yet, but she's working toward having a spot there, too.

The 29-year-old said she doesn't force any of her content. As a mother of two, her time is limited and she never wants to create so much that she hits a burnout phase. When she does hit record on makeup tutorials or reviews, her followers get her true persona. Salazar said that's what helped her stand out to the Los Angeles-based Fenty team.

They were looking for someone who did raw, authentic reviews," she said. "That's what they loved about me."

Now with brands like Fenty and Anastasia Beverly Hills under her belt,  Salazar is priming and primping her eyes and setting them on Morphe, another popular makeup brand.
