A 14-year-old boy was charged Monday in connection to the fatal shooting of a woman and her pregnant daughter last month on the South Side, according to police.
The teenage suspect, who is not being identified by authorities, was already in a juvenile detention center for aggravated robbery when detectives walked his warrant on the capital murder of multiple persons charge.
The boy is accused of fatally shooting Janette Quiroz, 37, and her pregnant daughter, 18-year-old Bernadett Jean Quiroz, on April 9 in the 100 block of Emerald Ash.
Both women were killed in the shooting, but Bernadett's child, Tabitha, was delivered at San Antonio Military Medical Center.
The baby survived under doctors' care for three days before she died.
