ESPN host David Jacoby has a prediction for the future of the San Antonio Spurs. Earlier this week, Jacoby boldly said he believes this season marks the end of the road for longtime head coach Gregg Popovich and he predicts assistant coach Becky Hammon will take over to become the first female head coach in NBA history.

He said it while discussing the team's dismal 4-12 record with NBA analyst Jalen Rose on their ESPN show Jalen & Jacoby on November 23. Rose started the conversation by saying he doesn't want to speculate, but then immediately speculated that this might be Popovich's last season with the Spurs.

"The league is definitely better with Pop in it – one of the all-time GOATs," Rose said. "But what are this team's goals going to be this year? At some point, it seems like those goals for Pop are going to be to win every game, but for the organization, it's going to try be to build for the future."

Rose added he hopes Popovich does decide to stick around. However, after watching Pop coach a team that isn't a strong contender for the playoffs, Rose said it made him realize he may not stick around much longer.

"If you won't say it I will," Jacoby finally said to Rose. "I think Pop is gone after this year, and I think Becky Hammon becomes the first female head coach in NBA history."

Jacoby also joked that when Popovich's resigns, he might put in his contract that Hammon must be the Spurs' next head coach.

The ESPN host isn't alone in predicting Hammon will be the first woman to reach that milestone. This summer, her name was tossed around as a top contender for a head coaching positions in Boston, Orlando, and Portland
